A 3D-printed UFO for a Sofia bar
For K.E.V.A. Sofia, we created a custom UFO installation designed for the interior of a well-known bar venue in Sofia.
Measuring 1 m in diameter and 40 cm in height, the UFO was 3D printed from PETG and finished with industrial polyurethane paint. The blue tone was custom-matched by combining blue polyurethane paint with a BMW E36 grey metallic finish.
Lighting was integrated directly into the design: an LED strip runs around the edge of the saucer, while additional LED modules illuminate the lower section. The strip is remote-controlled, allowing different lighting modes to be created.
The main challenge was keeping the installation fully serviceable while hiding all mounting hardware. The structure had to accommodate the lighting and allow access for maintenance without exposing any visible fasteners.
